Fishing Line

Which fishing line is right for you will be determined by a few different things. For instance, your choice of reel, the type of bait you’re throwing, the water conditions, and how leader-shy your target species are all can have an impact on what line you should choose. Daiwa braided line like Daiwa J-Braid X8 braided fishing line has zero stretch and no memory, which makes it easier to use with casters and better at detecting very light bites. Fluorocarbon fishing line is virtually invisible in water thanks to its similar refractive index, making it a prime choice in clear water around skittish, leader-shy species. As for monofilament, also known as mono, it has stretch and memory, which can make it a little bit of a hassle for some fishermen, but it’s simple to use, effective, and most importantly, very cheap. There’s a time and a place for all types of fishing line, and we can help with that. You just need to let the conditions dictate what you need on any given day.
